Does anyone have the Shires Huntingdon hacking jacket? I need a new tweed and like the look of this, online. What is the quality like? It looks nice for the price but have yet to find anywhere locally which sells them so I can't see on in person. I like the brown herringbone. What is the fit like? I am an 8 in normal clothes, and my current tweed is a 10 I think (Harry Hall IIRC) but too big and baggy. I'd like something quite fitted, and the Shires Huntingdon jackets looks quite nicely tailored in the pics.

Thanks :)

I have the shire huntingdon and its beautiful,, the quality is great and its comfy and keeps you warm when its feezing. The fit is great and really fitted. I got mine from barnstormers I think, and it was a lot less than the saddlery, litrally £30 less.

I would go for it :)

Thanks C&M. I really like the brown herringbone, think it would look nice with my bay roan horse. The whole range just seem pretty smart :)

Does the size match up to your normal clothes size? If I'm an 8 normally, do I need a 10 to be able to move in it, or do you find your normal size is OK? Current tweed is a 10 but is massive, I feel like I have a man's jacket on!

i bought one second hand and it really is a lovely jacket! Very nice quality with a lovely silky lining. unfortunately it was too big for me so i sold it again. wanted to buy another one but i am a really awkward size and even their smallest isn't right on me.

Hi, I have the green check one too, its a lovely looking jacket. Only thing I have found is that after two seasons, the sleeves have snagged where the velcro of my gloves have caught it. Its true to size. I have a size 8, which I think is around a 30-32" chest

The daughter has one too & its a lovely jacket. Unfortunately hers is too big for her though so I'm planning on selling it & getting a smaller size. shes 5' & a size 8, I got the 32" & its just a bit too big both chest wise & in length. Wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the same though x

I love mine! Got it for about £45 from Charlie's. Must of had it for about 2 years now.

I wonder if I would want the 32" then... I am 5ft4 but have a really long body and short legs. I wear a 30" back size bra (though measure a little bit smaller) though have big boobs, so wondering if the 32" would be the best.... given I will be riding in it and need some movement obviously.

Might go for the 32"...

I am 5'5 and a size 8, I have the 32". Tried 34 but it drowned me ! It is lovely, fantastic fit. Will try and find a picture... not had it long though so may be difficult !

Ah found a couple, mine is green check and so well fitted :) When hunting I have a pretty stock on, I didn't bother for SJ and just have my hunting shirt underneath!

I have the green herringbone one too and love it :D Mine is a bit big but I like mine roomy and have never bothered to get it taken in as size smaller was snug across my shoulders

I'm a very slim size 6 but still with a chest. The smallest was too baggy around my waist by a good few inches. Arms were also a bit baggy too. Child sizes sort of fit but are not fitted enough and squash my chest! Having a real nightmare finding one to fit without paying millions for a custom made.

I have one, it is nice quality for the price. The fit isn't great on me but I am a strange shape. I have broad shoulders and a bust (G cup eek) so as a result had to size up twice and is it still a bit tight across my shoulders and a bit baggy around my middle but it is the best I could find without going made to measure. I thought the arms were a bit snug too.
