Hi there,

Does anyone have experience with the shires moretta boots and are they any good? They seem excellent value for money. Also do the sizes run big/small? I'm usually a size 6.5/40 but they only go from 6 to 7 and not sure which would fit better!

Thanks for any help and reviews!

I sent mine back. They were the oddest shape! If you have small feet and tiny ankles you should be ok. I just couldn't get my feet in them.

What type did you get? Ive heard the sizing varies depending on which style it is..?

I've got the Bella country boots. I'm a 6.5 so bought a size 7. They rubbed the worst and biggest blisters I've ever had on my heels (was wearing compeed plasters for about 2 weeks). I tried wearing them again, this time for night out at the pub, and my left ankle was in agony at the end of the night. The boot isn't too tight, so I don't know what that's about - maybe something to do with the foot shape/seams at the ankle?

I have these ones for everyday wear. Love them. I’m a 4.5 and went for a 5 and their great also the legs were I’d say more generous than say ariats or mountain horse. I got the regular width and can get my long socks underneath, if I’d been using them as competition ones I’d prob have gone for slim.

I think mine are the Pamina Country Boots.
I mostly just use them for riding in and they are comfortable and fit me well.

I can’t remember the name but I have the moretta ones that are synthetic leather with the lace up. They are brilliant! Was £70 I thought worth a try. When they arrived I ordered another pair. So I have one pair for every day riding and one for shows. I have had them a year now and even the ones I wear every day still look new. I just give them a wipe down occasionally. They are true to size. I normally need wide boots and they have normal wide and extra wide and the wide fit perfectly.

I have some Moretta long riding boots.
They were beautifully comfortable and soft from day one and lots of people commented and asked what they were and were surprised when I said cheapies.
I just didn’t feel they have enough support at my ankle.

Do you know what style they were?

Bought a pair of short Moretta boots last summer, worn them almost every day since and they are brilliant. Would definitely recommend them, especially considering the value for money. True to size, maybe slightly on the tighter side? Easy to look after too. Good boots 👍

I have a long pair, I think Gianna? field laces not fully laced.

I love them far more than I expected to! Very comfy, look smart on, incredible value for money. I bought them 18months ago as a stop gap, but haven't replaced them - they do the job perfectly.

I have some of the Shires Alessandra boots until I wrecked them by filling them with water (it rained hard on a hack and I had to tip them out!). They are very smart and comfortable once worn in with lots of people admiring them. They also come in slim fit which was excellent news for me. you can tell they are cheaper, they are not the toughest if you abuse them! and I didn’t find them very warm. But I’m going to try and get them fixed (reglued) so that I can keep using them as they are nice boots. Definitely worth a try!

I don't think you'll be disappointed for the money. I would pay the little bit extra for the leather ones. My friend has the synthetic and mine were nicer!

I bought a pair of Moretta Gianna tall lace boots. I wore them for ages indoors but they didn’t drop as much as the shop assistant said they would.
I am considering buying another pair as they now come in a short height
Luckily I have sold the too long pair

I wish I could get the all leather ones but they don’t come in short height.
The size I need is foot size 6 and 40 cm high and 36cm calf.

Before I purchase a second pair of Gianna’s, those of you who have these boots, did they drop 2 cm or more please?

I have the Pietras and they are honestly the loveliest boots. I use mine daily (I wouldn't say I am light on them either) but after 3 years they still clean up like new. Really lovely soft supple leather that moulds round your leg (mine are the two-tone brown ones but assume the black ones would be the same). I always recommend them to people if asked and so far everyone has agreed with me. Great value for money

I absolutely love mine, they are the Albina tall boots, part laced. They are soft and comfortable, didn't need to break them in. I got my usual size and calf width according to their measurement chart.
