Rug Question.....Weatherbeeta or Shires stables rugs....which would you choose? Need a really thick one and have seen them both on offer really cheap. Am thinking the Weatherbeeta might be better quality but am being all silly thinking the shires one is a nicer colour LOL!

I have a couple of Shires Typhoons and they are great. I don't have any WB, so can't comment on them. Generally I go for the higher denier rug, so 1200d is better than 600d.

Both are decent quality rugs so not too much to choose from between them. Have to say I have mostly Weatherbeeta stable rugs or Amigo ones for my horses. However, through my work I do see a lot of Shires stable rugs come through for washing and they are absolutely fine.

Love Shires for t/o's, especially the combos - they fit my cob perfectly, and are v hard wearing. Used to have a weatherbeeta for our elderly tb, and it fitted her well. Will definitely be getting another Shires highlander mw combo for my mare this winter, and her cast-off will go to my youngster who has a tendency towards destroying rugs so he doesn't deserve a new one :p

Have both, prefer the fit of the Shires turnout on my girl to her weatherbeater.
Her Shires stable rug is looking a bit tatty but is just going into its 19th winter with her so I suppose I can forgive it for not washing up like new anymore :))

Where have you seen them? I need a new HW turn out and all of mine wear Shires, Weatherbeeta or Amigo rugs.

I have a Shires stable rug going into its 12th winter, with a Horsewear turnout bought at the same time still going strong!
