shires tempest 100g chest fit vs amigo

im looking for 100g light weights and amigo's fit my boys lovely - but at £100 each have seen shires tempest are £40 each and have the tbuckle fasteners like the amigos (which I like)

my boys are quite narrow chested and wondered if they'd be too gappy?

I particularly like the tempests for the wide chest and shoulders on my cobs so you may not.

I have both and the Shires is definitely bigger around the chest.

Sorry to jump on your post but those with the shires tempest do you find even without the shoulder darts that are ok for wide chested and big shoulders? my current rugs (not shires) without them are rubbing

I like Shires on my wide natives, so wouldn't think they would suit a narrow type.

Hannah&Co - I wouldn't know about rubbing, mine live in Bossy Bibs so don't suffer any

Shires fit my tank of a cob and hes wider than he is taller. Weatherbeeta etc dont go anywhere near

ditto on my wide mare, no rubs with shires. On our yard they are v popular though and some of the tb's sport them and they fit fine too.

Yes I've got a darted and non darted shires and both are generous over the shoulders. Much more so than Rambo at twice the price.

I have the tempest on a nh type tb and my big elephant. Fits both lovely.

I have the tempest 100g stable rug on my two, one is very wide, one is pretty narrow, it fits both.

I have also tried the tempest fly rug (in the same size as the stable rug that fits) and that was really really really tight and narrow, I could barely get it done up on my narrow horse and it wouldn't go anywhere near the wide one.

I have amigo and shires on mine both fit fab. The shires possibly come up bigger at the front but equally they more adjustable

I used to use Shires on my old Thoroughbred mare, and I still use them on my Welsh B and TB-type, both of whom are quite finely built. I find that they fit beautifully.

My rising 2 year old has had one of these on all the time this winter. I love the front buckle as they are like the fals. Great rug for the price. I am normally a fal person don't like all the buckles they have on a lit of other rugs as they are too fussy.

Amigo rugs fit my narrow boy perfectly. I find the shires to gappy round the neck.
