Hiya.
Has anyone had any experience with the Shires Tempest Four Season Turnout? Here is a link to it http://www.barnstormers.co.uk/acatalog/SHIRES_TEMPEST_ORIGINAL_FOUR_SEASONS_RUG.html#SID=72
It's a Turnout rug which can be used as a lightweight/no fill turnout rug and then when the lining and neck is added it becomes a mediumweight turnout. I think it's kind of a pointless idea, surely you could buy a lightweight and a mediumweight or under rug for £90?

I don't have the Shires one but I have a Rambo Duo which is the Horseware equivalent and really love the layering system. It saves a fortune on laundry bills too as I just wash the liner in my own washing machine and there is no need to send the outer to the rug wash. I generally like Shires rugs so I assume the Hour Season rug would be good.

Not if it is the same design as the Horseware ones as they don't have any sort of surcingle but I just use a 100g stable rug and use the various different weights of rug under that. Basically I have a light weight turnout and a light weight stable rug plus the 100g, 200g and 300g liners and then use various combinations throughout the year. I think it does work out cheaper than buying all the different weights as the horseware rugs of different weights are so expensive. I imagine it doesn't work for everyone but I very rarely use 'normal' rugs now.

The Shires warmarug liner system is coming out soon and those work with several different Shires rugs. Surprised it has taken them so long, but I've wanted to move to a liner system for a while so I'll give it a go.

I saw a masta one on sale in Burghley in horse village. It had different liner systems to be attached. Looked reasonable. I like masta rugs, they tend to have deep necks for chunkier beasts, however, the stitching work looked very poor in the seams.
