Aww, this made me cry! The man who gave Shirley her last bath, so obviously cared for her deeply. Where did she come from? I think I missed that part, I know she was in a circus with the other elephant. So moving how they were hugging eachother with their trunks at the end. A real bond.

Wonderful link, went onto the elephant site and looked them up, some great and touching videos on there.. they have an old stray dog who plays with the elephants.. what a lovely site and story.

That was so touching, I don't often cry but that made me. Sorry to hear Jenny died but lovely to see Shirley was finally happy and living free.

Thank you for this post, it certainly is very moving. I've cried a lot over elephants lately. Shirley was at least fortunate in having a kind keeper, unlike poor Anne
