My horse had 3 x sessions for a hind suspensory branch injury. He did not recover but also had a sdft injury on the opposite front leg which was more serious. It was about £200 for each session nearly a year ago. He needed to be sedated for the treatment which I think is normal as he wasn't difficult at the vets at all.

Depends on for what injury!

My horse had it for a splint - but it wasnt causing any issues other than cosmetic so I'm no use to you on that front but the vet did show me before and after scans on a hole in the suspensory which healed unbelievably well in much shorter time. Also the fibers straightened up instead of healing with lots of scar tissue.

My horse didnt need to be sedated for his shockwave treatments either - they are loud and he would normally be quite sensitive but he didnt mind it at all!

Had great results with shockwave! Have used it successfully on two horses - one with a injury to the annular ligament and one with an injury to the midbody of the suspensory. The annual ligament injury horse seemed to improve after much few sessions but my vet thinks this may be because the horse was also treated with Regenesis Vet.

I was always advised to give the horses a day off after the shockwave which we did. IMO i never felt any of the horses were overly sensitive or anything afterwards

Connie had shockwave treatment for a minor suspensory tweak a few years ago and it was very successful, however it was used in conjunction with daily ice salt water therapy and complete box rest at a rehab yard for three weeks.
