Shocked at rudeness of another rider!

Nope - still don't see where it says in the original post that there was a sign on her or the horse saying newly broken.....

'... they continued to trot very fast calling out that they couldn't stop as their horse was further along in the breaking in process than mine!!!!'

presumably impying that they knew the OP's horse was in the process of being broken? :)

I don't know how they knew either but they were right! Maybe they have such good vision they could see my neckstrap and my tabard saying horse in training from such a distance but going at such speed I'm suprised they could!!

If you meet them again turn your horse side ways to block the lane if you can, otherwise turn to face them and explain you have a young horse which you are teaching good manners.

I did this last year with my 4yro when a local p2p trainer tried to trot past us.

Thankfully my youngster is about 18hh so blocked the road very effectively while I had a 'chat' with the other rider about their manners.

Whenever I have seen him out since, he has come back down to walk and exchanged pleasantries with me :)

Well I ahve to say I have passed people at trot after calling to them to make sure they were ok with it. I have passed a fair few people in trot on the road going both the same way and opposite direction. If I saw their horse getting upset with mines passing then i would stop but I dont think its fair to ask everyone to go at your pace if your sauntering with all the time in the world and others dont have that luxury.

As long as its safe to pass I dont see the problem and I have NEVER had people complaining or shouting to me about it :)
