How can it differ so much from what you were quoted

I had my yearling gelded in March. The price including VAT for the castration, call out, check over, drugs, flu and tet was £220. About 10 days after we then had an infection which meant emergency call out on a Saturday night, anti inflammatorys, antibiotics (injection and follow up for 7 days) and that was £150.

I had Chico gelded as a 5 year old under GA with a night stay in horsepital - cost me well under that, in fact I think it was around £300 all in with the anti-b's and a follow up check!

I would definitely ring and talk to the senior partner if you were quoted much less than you were charged. Like you say if there was a complication you would expect to have been told at the time and not when you get the bill.
