I posted last week about people mucking me around with horses for loan. Well the lady who had her pony for loan or sale and called me the night before viewing to cancel was at Reading Horse Sales. She had the pony there to sell

She told me she had loaned it

I couldn't believe it, it crossed my mind that the new loaner might have been selling it, so I asked some questions. Sure enough it was the same lady I had spoken to last week.

The poor pony sold for £700 to a dealer, she was asking £3,000 only a week ago on horsequest.

What a nightmare, the women did look really upset

She would have been better off loaning it!

A girl at my yard has just sold a perfectly good horse to a dealer for £500 because she 'couldn't' sell it on Horsemart - she only advertised it for £1200 for 2 weeks and probably got no help with advert wording or pictures. I would have bought it for that and sold it on for pretty much the same price to a good home.... god knows where the mare will end up now shes been sold to a dealer.

Nice people do buy from dealers though.... .I think we are all of the opinion that dealers are the bowels of hell, but most horses do go on to have nice lives afterwards...... Its when they are sold to the meat man you have to worry....
