Shocking Advert Photos!

If it ticked the boxes then yes of course, I am quite sure that people regularly miss out on good horses because they are put off by a single moment in time.

I'm buying the horse, not a photo or the rider.

I never trust a photo other than to confirm what colour and approx size the horse is.
That ugly foal (5-6 weeks) has turned into a smashing yearling and the mare (registered) is the sweetest creature going with a nice pedigree. I mentioned approx size, that mare is 15.2h, this particular photo was quite misleading the chap was 6'7"! No-one had been to see that mare, I got her, and the foal, for less than $600, made the purchase price and more back on the foal when I sold her as a weanling.

Yes, awkward moment going up a bank or over a ditch, whatever, but does it really matter?:)

To me I see a horse that is rideable, has all its' bits and pieces in the right order and hasn't got it quite together, for one reason or another,
at that particular obstacle. So what?

The reason I would probably not look at the horse, is that this photo gives me the wrong impression of the people selling it. Have they been overfacing it? If the horse is young, I would want to know if the horse still has a sound back, if it's frequently been asked to face ridiculous obstacles, with a heavy rider who looks to me as though he has a rather gung ho attitude. The rider has no hat on, he's jabbing that horse hard in the mouth, with the riders heavy frame quite far back in the saddle, his friend with the camera is sitting in the ditch. I wouldn't want to meet these people quite frankly, or be involved with a horse they may or may not have spoilt.
I have been lied to, and miss-sold a few horses in the past, so I am cynical. Many years ago, we even bought one which had been drugged on every occasion we viewed it. I am hopefully going to start looking for another horse, since recently retireing my TB. I'm the type of buyer who wants to buy an honest horse from an honest buyer, who has a similar attitude to horse management as I do. I don't buy/sell horses on a regular basis and I can't risk making mistakes buying from idiots who dont apparantly have a clue or give a damn about what they are selling.

Not by me,:) everybody has the right to their own opinion.

If it was what I was looking for (it isn't) then I'd go because, quite frankly I never believe a word anyone says when they are selling a horse until I have seen it with my own eyes.

I love buying horses, I get a real buzz out of the whole thing, it's a game. I don't much care what sort of people are selling. I look at what the horse is telling me, not that it lives in a scrap yard and has a halter made of string.

I think the difference is that I don't look to buy four or five figure made horses that one can hop on and ride away, they don't interest me. Youngstock does, far less room for sales shenanigans with youngsters.
