my interpretation is that you can't have hind shoes but it does not state that you have to have fronts. You will find that some of the 3yr olds will be shown with front shoes to hide a few conformation/poor feet faults. For all the others they are generally shown without shoes, I personally would not like to show a yearling at a show with front shoes, in the atomsphere of a big show like Balmoral, goodness olny knows where the front legs will be, ie they might not be on the ground!!

If you want it might be worth checking with some of the local producers or young horses. Pm me if you want a few names.

I have never known this for any County show. Completely bizarre because there is no advantage to shoeing in front as the feet should be properly trimmed anyway. I have asked someone about this and they are convinced whoever you spoke to has made a mistake. They are not aware of this ruling for any shows including breed shows. As I said bizarre.
