Ed did have natural balance on. I have noticed little change from them to his normal shoes. My farrier shoes him sympathetically to his hoof shape and confo and I find normal shoes very favourable.

He's an ISH.

Interesting to know - I have a new horse and new farrier who put natural balance shoes on him today - they were £10 more expensive so we shall see how they work out.

Ditto this, Never tried Natural Balance.

I think my mare had natural balance shoes with her last owners but she also had not so good feet. When I got her I put her on a biotin supplement and standard shoes but she trips with the ones with toe clips so she has shoes with quarter clips which are only £5 more for a set. My farriers say she has the some of the best feet that they shoe now

Mine is shod in normal hunter shoes, every 6 weeks.

Her hind shoes are set back slightly, with a long heel after she damaged a tendon sheath - shes 17, and my farrier wants her to keep going for as long as possible, as do I, so he gives her a bit of help.

We've gone through all 3 options!! originally normal shoes, then natural balance as he kept ripping off fronts, then finally barefoot as he ripped off the natural balance and most of his hoof. Spent couple of months off work growing some more hoof and am still trialing him BF. I dont think I was charged more for natural balance......and he is a IDxTB.

He has standard shoes, but remedial farriery as lateral extensions all round to deal with various problems.

Last horse, my mare, was shod with standard shoes to begin with but then changed to NB because she was wearing her shoes out and feet up to the white line nearly. Better in NB for the feet because it allowed her feet to wear differently, however I think the difference in how she moved contributed to her going lame and being retired. Shoes off and she's now much sounder. I wouldn't have NB again personally. They weren't any more expensive.

My irish horses are both shod fairly normally with shoes with quarter clips, with loads of heel support- shod v wide and long at the heels. I was always told years ago to steer clear of NB shoeing by a previous farrier, later on when we had to use another farrier he insisted on using NB shoes, did an exceptionally bad job and caused thousands of pounds worth of vet bills/treatment plus physio, and remedial shoeing to get him right, thankfully our farrier we use now is excellent!

I've had Natural Balance on mine for the last 6 years and wouldn't go back to traditional. Interestingly my farrier says that NB shoes are no more expensive to buy than traditional so those of you who are being charged more for them might want to ask why.
