Hi, would really appreciate some advice!

My boy was diagnosed with spavins approx 3yrs ago, he also has ringbone on his off hind fetlock.

Around the same time he also went lame in front (4 bad legs lol!), after a full work up vet diagnosed that his pedal bone was lying at the wrong angle.

He was barefoot all round at that time and had been for about a year.

Treatment consisted of Tildren for his spavins, danilon as required for his ringbone and shoes with wedges in front to lift his heels.

After all this, fudge has been sound and in light work for about 2yrs.

Recently, I've noticed that he's looking a bit off in front.
After reading all the horror stories about wedges etc, I'm wondering whether they may be causing a problem.

My farrier is coming out on Monday to check fudge over and I will follow this up with a trip to the vet.

Wondering if anyone has any advice for me!
Not sure what to do next!!!!

Has he been in wedges for over 2 years? They, if used, should be temporary while encouraging more heel to develop and to help get the toe back so the pedal bone is corrected, one of mine has had the same problem he was not put in wedges the farrier has managed to get his feet better balanced using the xrays as a guide and the last xrays looked good so he is now going back into normal shoes having had bar shoes on for 4 months.
I think you need to speak to your vet about doing more xrays to see what is going on but I would be concerned that the wedges are now doing harm to the balance inside his foot.
