I don’t like mondays

Hi, The farrier has been out to my pony and reused the shoes (which is fine) but the nails are not at all flush with the under side of the shoe, they are sitting a good 1/2cm or more above the shoe (like he’s wearing little studs). When standing the nails are in contact with the ground, not the shoe, meaning there’s quite a gap between the shoe and ground. Some nails are more proud than others. This doesn’t look right to me but Farrier says they will wear down. Has anyone had this before? I’m worried an unlevel surface could cause strains, overcompensation or movement issues. Thanks in advance
