all you showing people, what shoes do you wear?? i’ve always gone with jodhpur boots, which was fine for the ponies i was showing then, but after discovering lily can in fact get a shift on in true welsh fashion i think i’m in need of something with more grip!

i know plenty of people show welshies in trainers or running/football boots, but i’d still like something a bit more traditional - much to my nana’s horror i will be wearing jeans, but i draw the line at trainers😂

recommendations for jodhpur style boots with grip? ideally some that won’t break the bank, since it’s the only time i’ll wear them and once our flat work is up to scratch we’ll be ditching the inhand!

It depends what surface alot of in hand I did was in an arena so trainers are best but they can be slippy on wet grass, so I have worn my mountain horse classic short boots they look a bit like walking boots with good grip soles.

Leather jodhpur boots are useless if it's slightly wet they just slip and can even be slippery on a surface, I did have a pair of pull on Dr Martens years and they were brilliant as they have grip but they are soft so you can really run in them.

I need to get some new boots this year too. I’m probably going to end up looking along the lines of a dealer boot, as they seem to have a better tread but are smarter than trainers

what i’m hearing is, i need to buy another pair of DM’s🫢 i do have some old normal ones that i was thinking about, but i’m not sure if they’d look daft - they are my go to shoes for a more rural dog walk when it’s warmer because they’ve got good grip!

A decent pair of trail running shoes would probably be your best bet in terms of functionality....good luck though finding a pair that aren't lime green or with pink "go faster" trimming!

this is my objection to them🙈😂 and i don’t think i can run fast enough to look like i actually need them!🤣

When I worked on yards they are all I wore mainly the shorter lace up ones, but I did have a few of the pull on type and they are more flexible so better for running in.

I used to show Arab's so you have to really run as fast as you can I hated it on grass as its slippery and can be uneven.
