Shoes or barefoot for laminitis

My Arabi does that can't have anything on his legs or feet, he had a fractured pedal bone a while back and he had a cast on for 12 weeks and did have a chew of it but there was no way he was getting that off 😂 I think alot of it is boredom.

He had really thin soles about 4 years ago I just padded them with nappies and duct tape and he would pull those off as well, he absolutely destroyed a few poultice boots I left on overnight once.

I found that tough black foam good for putting on the soles as protection it's fairly cheap so you can replace once it goes flat.

That’s what she has on tonight, black foam padding that I have duct taped on 😂😂😂

At least it’s cheap so I don’t mind as much when your getting through 4 rolls of vet wrap a day that wears thin!

They are nightmares aren’t they!

That’s what we are going for I think. Had another chat with the farrier tonight.

Boots for the short term and see how she goes and then look at heart bars again when we might be able to start doing more.

Big thanks to everyone for their thoughts. It means a lot to have such a kind hive mind at my fingertips. Certainly makes this nightmare less lonely! Xx

Thought I would pop on and give you all an update!
The vets came out for more X-rays on Friday and it was good news! Woop woop!
Preciously she has around 3-4mm of sole and now we have nearly a cm! Her x-rays are looking so much better and is now considered radiographically stable.

That‘s great news, always nice when the outcome is positive.

Did you boot in the end or just continue to pad and wrap?
