This has probably been asked hundreds of times but what are your thoughts? My native mare is overweight and had a bit of a lami scare last summer. To keep her exercised well I need to go on the road, but she's very footy after a trim and I don't feel like making her go far. Do I try a pair of boots or put shoes on the fronts? She's been barefoot all her life.

I'd try with boots because as soon as she is comfortable again you can take them off. Does she actually need the trim if it is making her footsore, I wouldn't be happy with that, is he taking too much off.

She shouldn't be footy after a trim, never mind 'very footy'. If your trimmer knows, you need a new one, I'm afraid.
