What do people ride in in 2019? I still ride in old chaps and a pair of muckers, although I did spend a lot of time and money finding a pair of long boots that will fit my very short, very wide calves - I am now too nervous to try to break them in in my lessons for fear of looking "all the gear no idea" :p I am still living in the times when the choice was blue or green for your Hunters...

Mostly my ariat grasmeres, most accepting for very wide calves. They aren't the best for the most subtle leg aids but fine for general stuff.

I only ride in long riding boots these days, much more comfortable for me.

Wellies for doing yard jobs or if its warm jod boots

I hadn't realised how ancient my yard boots were until I started having lessons after a long break - i look very scruffy. But they are very well broken in and don't give me blisters. Sadly I think their time is up (leakage) so back to blisters.

Ariats and chaps for me.
And me ...... But I need to start riding more in my long boots. They have a thinner sole than the Ariats and in competition I struggle with the different stirrup lengths - they are not a whole hole difference, so I am either feeling like I am riding too short/too long.

Harry Hall jod boots and 15yo Shires synthetic chaps for riding; Aldi country boots for chores. I do have a pair of long boots that I picked up for less than half price, but they aren't particularly comfortable so I only wear them if I have to.

Mountain Horse High Rider II long boots. I had a break from horses, started up again last year so dusted them off but they are not in the best condition so they are for chores only now. They def won't make it through another winter and I'm quite sad to find they don't seem to make them anymore :( I have some plain shires long boots for competing and lessons as I have shorter legs and they were one of the few boots that fit me.

I ride in Equitector paddock boots with ariat chaps when I'm at home, and at lessons and comps I wear my long ariat boots.

Very occasionally if its warm, I will hack out just in breeches and long socks without the chaps, but not v often.
