Does anyone have experince of the Shogun Sport(2002/2003)? I am on the verge of buying one to tow trailer with. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks

Worst car I've ever owned - nothing mechanical but have a serious rubbish turning circle, have leaf spring suspension at rear so are harsh rides and are useless in icey snowey weather. They are also not great on fuel consumption..........not that many 4x4's are!! Sorry but I am seriously not a fan!!

we have one and it is fabulous!

we have had it for 5 years and not had any mechanical issues at all (touches wood!) and it has had a hard life with us with lots of towing of big horses.

it was amazing in the snow last winter as my mum lives at the top of a very large hill with steep roads on all sides and it was passing lots of other 4x4s that had been abandoned.

the turning circle is huge, but as long as you are proficient at towing a trailer its not an issue at all.

best thing is the layout in the back is enormous so excellent for eventing as you have so much room for everything (also good for travelling our 2 XL dogs)

Dreadful car, awful quality, it hated towing and I actually got stuck on a hill with my boy in the back with it once, steamed up really badly in the winter months. Would never have another sorry.

I've got one, it's okay and does the job.
Mechanically great. A bit thirsty but no worse than any other bigger 4x4
On a pick up chassis so a bit bumpy but not awful.
2800kg tow capacity, copes fine with 2 up on a IW210, not the gutsiest around but equally not the worst.
Was fabulous on the ice/snow last year so not sure why other poster had a problem, went up/down steep icy hills that had disco/trooper casualties!
Very very roomy boot
Agree with the large turning circle and the misting issues!

Overall for the reliability and space they offer it's a good option for the relatively low price they fetch.

Forgot to say it hated started on cold mornings and smoked like hell upon starting, a friend has one also and his is the same.

They are basicly the old shape L200 pick up chassis with an estate car body I had one on demo and am glad I never got one they are very old fashtioned and the fuel consumption was terrible.. bouncy , gutless and truely vile... the bigger 3.2 shogun is much much better in every way and would recomend one ...
