If you planned to do a few ODEs, starting at 70cm possibly going up to 80cm. Would you shoe behind so you could stud?

Young horse that over jumps everything, she is currently shod in front and not behind because she has very good feet.

Would plan to that them off after the event season.

Yes- I have competed horses without shoes/ studs before, and then I had a slip which equaled a traumatic brain injury, so to me it simply isn’t worth the risk anymore

I shod my event horse all round for the event season and took all shoes off over the winter. A lot of eventing dressage seemed to be on grass in the early morning making it very slippy with the dew and he wasn't confident at all barefoot let alone for the xc.

Definitely.
I watched a video by Lucinda Green where she said she’d love to compete barefoot as it’s better for the horse but it just isn’t safe without studs.

Yes always stud behind for grass
Not worth risking a slip and subsequent injury or loss of confidence

You'll likely find you need the studs more for the dressage and SJ than for the xc!

The worst kind of ground for slipping is from May onwards where its a bit harder underneath but grass is quite short and wet. They just cannot get good grip in Dressage and Sjing.
I rarely stud at home for jumping on grass but purposely keep the grass much longer so do not have the issues.
