I haven't bought anything for, oh, at least a week, so I think it's time to upgrade my bridle. I can't quite seem to find what I want and there are so many makes. Do you have any recommendations?

It would be my posh one, for dressage, possibly accompanied by a nice new blingy browband. I prefer the padded/shaped ones. A plain rather than a crank noseband, or one of those shaped nosebands that sit above the bit rings. Black leather (not rolled), can be patent or matte. Don't mind if it's with a flash or not. I like the ones with white piping but that's optional.

It's to fit this face (although not his best expression!)...

Was at badminton yesterday and my friend was looking for bridles. The Mountain Horse range was lovely - extremely soft leather and lots of options. There is a superb bridle that can be either double or snaffle with a headpiece adjustment. It had a bit of bling but not OTT. The plainer bridles were also gorgeous leather.

Am having fun cruising through these recommendations, thank you. I haven't heard of the mountain horse or silver crown ones. I know equiture do lovely browbands so was actually thinking of them for the browband anyway.

Might need to measure him up for the silver crown one and have a chat to them. I really like the build your own bridle idea - although they do come up fairly pricey.

That's definitely the nicest one they have! Does it have a shaped or a curved headpiece? I can't tell from the picture.

Fairfax Performance Bridle? I was looking at the bumph the other day, and they look really interesting!

English Bridles would be my first port of call if I was after a new bridle - I love their flat padded nosebands!

Dy'on all the way! Even their cheaper bridles have buttery soft leather that wears really well :).

If you've got a bit more budget (£250+) the CWD comfort headpiece ones are gorgeous.

Off to look at EB but the fairfax ones, me no likey. They look odd. Call me old fashioned!

if u was on about the one I put on then yeah it does. its really nice. Also its really padded xx

Yes it was you! I really really like the dressy X Line one they do http://www.valleyanimalsupplies.co.uk/waldhausen-x-line-dressy-bridle - not sold on the browband but I don't mind getting one of the equiture ones as well if it doesn't look so nice in person. Do you know anything about the sizing? He's in full size but tends to be towards the top/shortest buckles.

Hmm, thanks but not so sure on those ones, fortunately for my wallet haha.

If you are going to Windsor, Shadow Horse usually have a stall there, and they are very helpful. And no I'm not on commission, I just love the bridle I have from there!

I have my eye on a Don Harry bridle (on FB) found them from recommendations on HHO and they look gorgeous. Time to save up! I also like my Sabre bridles, they wear well.
