So, my Christmas money is burning a hole in my pocket!!
I would really like a pair of long brown leather riding boots, not the dubarry type ones, normal riding boot style. I can't find any though apart from the ariat bromats which are just too much £ tbh.
Ideally something in the sales for £100 ish, but could go to £150 ish if gorgeous! Smart enough for outings, but will be mainly used for schooling and lessons.
Help please!!

I've looked for those, but can't find a brown pair though! (I have them in black and love them). Sure it is just me being crap at searching - shall hassle google again and see what turns up!

The Ariat Bromonts are well worth the money. I live in mine, I have a black and a brown pair and they are gorgeous boots. Alternatively, Regent make the Cotswold and the Grafton (with rear zip) in brown.

Thanks guys!
Turns out I am a google search idiot!
They look really gorgeous KerryDevon, but I def want a more traditional style (am boring!).
I do love the bromats, but since they are a 'like' by rather than a 'need' buy I just can't justify that kind of £.
Shall check out the Regent ones, they look smart and just the thing.
Has anyone had Regent boots - do they wear well?

Mountain horse high riders II, I have a pair in the brown, They're lush. Very warm, and very smart, even though I do call them my quidich boots ;)

Ohh, thanks for the positive vote. They look lovely, do they look bulky on? Would they look out of place to compete in?

Have two pairs of Regents for years - one bought new the others bought from ebay for £30 nearly new - no complaints what so ever with quality lovely traditional riding boot.

Only thing I would mention is if you buy new they can take a bit of breaking in round the ankle area so you have full movement - but once this is done they are just like they are part of your leg

Brown ones are quite nice too

Myself and OH have these- i wear them for hunting and people always comment on how smart they look :)

Those first ones look cool! Actually quite like them!
Wow, the second ones look a proper bargain, sadly I would usually take a long regular fitting so think they might look a little silly on.
Loving the Regents, so gorgeous! Might have to see if there is somewhere near me I can try them on, they really are stunning!

I know I think the first ones look quite cool too!

- they may make a taller fitting in the 2nd pair maybe?

Re the regents- they are lovely boots- I remember I tried a pair of the brown ones on in my local tack shop a cpl of years ago, they were lovely but not quite the right fit for me- they are a lovely colour!

Also have you tried ebay sellers? If you google I also recall seeing some HKM long boots somewhere that were brown in colour too. happy shopping!

I would see if you can get the Ariats in a sale, they are really lovely in brown.

I bought some for about £125 brand new a couple of years ago (someone put a link on here to a random tackshop) but had to sell them (my legs are too fat and short even in the wide fitting) and managed to get £130 for them on Ebay even though I had worn them.

Just found the original thread, I got the price and the date correct, my memory is better than I thought! :D

ahh, well that does put rather a different spin on it! Did they have them in the sale? I never seem to find them in sales!!

No, not a sale - MrsM rang them for me and their in store prices can be much lower than the online ones!
Give them a call, you may be surprised and their delivery is excellent - I got next day delivery for £6.95 I think!
