So I am looking for a dressage tailcoat and looking for some help. I have seen 2 that I like the look of online- the Dressage Deluxe Tailcoat by Mears and the Pikeur tailcoat and can't decide. Any views on material / fit etc

I am in Ireland and have no access to trying them on beforehand. So how do they come up size wise? I am a 10/12 (broad shoulders but flat chested) and about 5'8.

Or any other suggestions?

No advice on the tails, but i have a Pikeur jacket and its really lovely, like you I have broad shoulders and would say they are true to size I fit comfortably into a 10

I''ve had both. Have just sold the Mears and bought a Pikeur one. The Mears coat was gorgeous, though a bit small :o. The Pikeur one's slightly lighter material (the Mears coat was a very fine wool). I'm wearing a Pikeur size 10 despite normally being a 12+ so I don't know quite how that works! I tried on an Anky one as I really like the style but it made me look like a sack o spuds :(.

Not a huge amount of help, sorry! Both nice coats - buy one from somewhere that will let you exchange it if the size isn't quite right.

There is a company called flying colours that do them to your spec (sizing and colours) they are really lovely and the fabrics great. I have no reason for one but having seen them and felt them they're good!

Thanks for all the replies and help. I am tempted to get the Pikeur one. I might try on a normal Pikeur jacket this weekend to see how they generally size up and then take the plunge.

Gamebird - yes, I will buy from somewhere that I send it back if its wrong size. Its an investment buy so want to ensure that they fit.
