I've just had my saddler out for our yearly check up, and we're not 100% happy with the saddle I have at the moment and so i'm on the lookout for something shorter and wider than the one I have been using.

I am looking for a 16" adjustable saddle (she needs an xwide but may well go back down to a wide hence wanting adjustable - her shape is very changeable due to interment work loads - she's an old lady with arthritis so can't be as consistent as we'd like) preferably synthetic but I would consider leather too. Either a GP or VSD/WH type would be fine.

All I can seem to find in 16" are the thorowgood and wintec pony club saddles.. We have tried a friends T4 cob saddle on her which would have been perfect but it was too long, and 17" is the shortest either thorowgood or wintec do apart from the pony saddles. Thorowgood do a longer leg pony club saddle which might work for me, but I was just wondering if anybody on here knows of anything other than these pony saddles (she's not a pony, just a short backed horse) as i'm not sure they would be quite right on her.

I will of course discuss this further with my saddler, but i'm just wondering if these pony club saddles are my only option if I go for an adjustable one and if getting a non adjustable might have to be considered.

Any advice/ideas much appreciated!

I have a bates 16'' VSD, perfect for schooling my XW little pony.

My old pony took a 16.5 and he had a wintec dressage.
