I’ve tried on a few of the waterproof/lined warm type jods (ariat etc) and they seem like they would be lovely if only they were not the length of shorts on me! I’m 5’8 but must have a really long inner leg, so for the crotch to be at the crotch the bottom is literally just under my knee lol

I usually ride in whatever I have on but my legs are cold and my arse is getting sore riding in normal trouser materials. I just want a nice pair of jods :(

I have a pair of Horze winter breeches that have stirrup feet and are long on me (I have long legs for my average height). Very warm, almost waterproof and I have lived in them for about 3 winters.

Kramer do some fab winter ones, I'm the same height as you and they're fine (but maybe I have stumpy legs!) They are properly waterproof.Only criticism is, I actually find them too warm.

Decathlon. I'm your height and they are plenty long enough.

The waterproof ones are good but the black ones do look a bit like pvc trousers.

The non-waterproof warm ones are nice too and lovely and cosy. I wear mine most of the year as they are comfy. Don't be put off by them saying they are for occasional riders, they are fine for regular use. My nephew is a professional groom and rider and wears them regularly, in fact they are about the only jodhs he wears

I bought Derby House waterproof, fleece lined breeches last year. But when it was below freezing I aways wore thermal long johns and thermal undersocks under my winter riding clothes.

My first ever hack was with snow on the ground. Thus putting the school out of action. But I have increased in size since then.

Should say though their winter breeches come up short it’s just the tights that are long!

I have the opposite problem - they're all too long! I've invested in a riding skirt (hi-viz orange with reflective strips, naturally) and it keeps me lovely and cosy.

The nice thing about the Decathlon ones is that you can go straight from the yard to a bondage party without a pesky change of outfit.
They are a bit baggy on the waist though.
True, you need a belt on the waterproof ones. The beige ones are fine but the black do have a bit of a dominatrix vibe.

The warm but not waterproof ones don't have a bondage look about them though and they do nice colours. Also under £30

I have Ariat winter breeches which are fleece lined. Obviously they are breeches but I'm 5'8" with a long leg and they are a good fit and very warm. First day of wearing them this winter and lovely & warm, not waterproof tho .

Decathlon are great for me, I have a long leg (wish they were slimmer tho). I purchased a pair of the waterproof ones for my son, sent them back as he didn't appreciate the look?!

I’m also 5’8”and love Pikeur Luganda winter weight - soft shell water repellant outer with fleece lining. I get the long leg rather than the standard leg version.

Perhaps the shop only has the regular leg sizes which is why i struggle, but then i assume all jods are the same length and my amazon legs just don't fit horsewear.

Worth going in as the sizing in decathlon can be a bit interesting

Agreed! My jods are Decathlon and I had to try several pairs on to find one that I felt comfortable with. I still have to turn the ends up a few inches because they don't come in a short leg length!
