Hi - can anyone recomend a good short boot, I want to be to smart and black for use in competition as well as at home.

Currently I use the Ariat Devon Pro and have done for the past few years however these only last about 6 months with being used daily...

Can anyone recomend any other one?

don't know if you want to stick with ariats - but I recently found some bargains:

I haven't had these mountain horse boots - but I have had other mountain horse ones and they lasted very well & i am very hard on boots. Can't vouch for the musto ones, but they look nice (and at that price it's worth the risk)

musto - 36.99 http://www.equestrianclearance.com/musto/musto_classic_riding_boots/index.html

mountain horse - 49.95

Ah! I used to use the Ariat Heritages for years and swore by them - meg comfy. I actually bought a set of Musto boots and chaps. I used to be product editor at Your Horse, we had a set of the Musto Innovation boots in and they are gorgeous, really odd-looking but amazingly light and flexible.

I just bought a pair of the leather style Musto boots from the EC sale, laceup, and set of the chaps (which come up a little small, I wear Large, not medium). The price is GREAT for the quality, I've found the short leather boots are very light and flexible, though more traditional than the quilted version. THe laced ones hav a zip at the back which makes them really easy to get on and off. The chaps are no beauties but should be hardwearing.

I'd definitely look into the Musto boots: if you like Ariat, these might suit you, you won't like bulky styles. And they are SUCH a good bargain. Have a look!

I have just bought a pair of the Musto classic zip boot £36.99 from Equestrian Clearance and they are fab! I ordered them Thursday and they arrived today. They are so comfy and very stylish. They are true to size also.

Tim, I know the frustration with the Ariat Devon Pro, mine only last 6 months (daily wear) but I keep going back to them they are the most comfy boots ever, if you by another type you will feel all the stones thro them.defo a differance. Plus the Ariat Heratage the cheaper ones last even less. Have you tried the Devon Pro Cobalt H2O. Exactly the same as you mentioned but are water proof, they are a bit better, dont crack as soon.
