Want a pair of short boots that I can wear for paddock/riding/*cough* shopping....

Had a pair of Dublin Spirits last year which fell apart after about 6 months... they were very comfortable until the sole wore thin and I had to wear two pairs of insoles just to protect the soles of my feet from sharp stones. The bit that came unstitched was fixed with Superglue but when a zip went I threw in the towel... *sigh*

BUT, my short (ankle) socks stayed put. I have a pair of Dickies, lace-up safety boots but they make my socks fall down and ruck up under my feet (bleurgh! Can't BEAR that sensation) so I either have to wear long socks or a pair of those red feet-warmer things that you wear with your wellies.... so I either get hot feet or hot legs!

Can anyone recommend a good boot that won't make my socks fall down? Ariat Terrains or Telurides? Mountain Horse? I'd hate to fork out and then discover my socks won't stay up :o

(And no... it's not my socks ;))

I have derby house lace up paddock boots for normal everyday living ( dont do heels in any way ) they are really comfy, and my socks stay put. I even walk 2 miles into town with pram, walk round town then home again and dont have a problem. Not too expensive either.

I adore my Ariat Terrains, had them about 5 years and still going strong. Really comfy and never had sock issues :)

I usually wear them Spring-Autumn (in winter wear muck boots as get cold feet)
