Don't even know why I am posting this, neither matchy matchy nor toney toney...just plain scruffy!  And to make matters worse, taken with a mobile phone, hence no zoom and not great quality. But somebody pointed out to me the other day that I had not posted a video of Frodo for *ages*, which is true, so here you go!

(Sound off if you can...the music is a bit embarrassing, but the person who took the video was kind enough to edit the several clips together into a single video and put it on YT for me so I shouldn't really complain about the fact that they've added music to it! :) ).

Lovely boy, love his face as he tries to have a good pog at you as he first comes round.
That arena is wonderful! So light and airy... Jealous.com

He looks fab, just seen it on FB. Really like the later stuff when you get him really up & more expressive. Your a lovely rider.

Thank you dressagecrazy, much appreciated esp. coming from you! He definitely likes being allowed to show a little bit of his "show trot" :D

Wow- never seen a video of him before, he is NICEEE!!

Is that you riding? You ride lovely if so, very jel!

Thank you, yes that's me, but nothing to be jealous of trust me ;) I know, I should post videos more often. But I never have anyone who can film me! :(

He is just saying "Wait a second, that's NOT how you hold mobile phones normally!" :D

Saw on FB earlier and meant to comment - he's stunning. I hope roo goes like that one day, I think they are built quite similarly, just frodo an awful lot better behaved and you ride a million times better than me!!

Love frodo - such fluid paces (not sure that's a horsey term but hopefully makes some sense!?)

Looks nice. What are you guys working on at the moment?

Built similarly...as in, both on the chubby side? :D :D Just kidding! Frodo is built quite uphill, but has a very long neck. Fortunately, it's manageable and has never really been a problem (sometimes long-necked horses can become earthbound/heavier especially in lateral work, but fortunately he uses himself well and really goes "up" in the half-passes etc).

Roo is telepathically telling me he just needs a pink/cream pad. Any misbehaviour on his part is purely due to lack of or insufficient pink matchy matchy :p

He is competing at Medium and working Advanced Medium at home with some half-steps, so hopefully he'll be able to make his Advanced Medium debut in or before the summer.

He will turn 7 in May so no rush!

Well..... The running joke is that roo is STILL looking 'festively plump' from Christmas - so maybe that is where I saw the similarity! But yes uphill build, and relatively long legs. Just hope we can get roo's back end as engaged as frodos, he doesn't have an excuse really as is very short coupled for his size! Will have to get some video of him working.
Ohhh don't tempt me, the pink and cream is so pretty but I think my husband would kill me - roo was his originally!!

Alas Frodo has the shortest legs! Everybody was taking the mickey out of him in Germany calling him "pony" etc, he was bullied, poor baby :p

Re. your OH's quite frankly unreasonable antipathy for pink pads I have no suggestions, apart from maybe duct tape to cover the pink stripes when he is around????? :p :p

(I know, I know...being the nice person that I am, I am willing to sacrifice myself and buy it myself ;) ;) then you can borrow it when he's away for work or something!)

His legs don't look short on that vid, must be because he is swinging through so nicely :)
Maybe they are only similar in colour and porkiness then?
Will have a colour comparison with the petrol bandages and if they don't match I may have to look for a different colour combo ;)

mik, not sure -- when work calms down a little! Hopefully soon though, I can't wait to get out again (I haven't competed since last summer..!).

alwaysbroke, thanks, yes the arena is really lovely and bright :)

jessamess, yes him indeed, he's a TV star now, his head is getting bigger by the day ;) ;)

ecrozier, will bring both of mine & bandages and we'll carry out a thorough comparative study at Starbucks :D
(Did you buy the navy/red by any chance? I can't remember? If so would you mind bringing it please?)

We can call it an official study :) yes I have the navy and red, really like it although is a fairly dark red, not Scarlett red, have a Scarlett red HKM velour one (hence offering a home for your bandages!) so tend to put the loesdau one with my navy bandages that have red (bsja logo) Velcro on them!!

Lovely - that put a smile on my face. How refreshing to see a horse so relaxed in his work.

Thank you for posting it - it makes me want to dig out my pretty bandages and go do flatwork...! :)

Thanks all :)

He looks absolutely lovely! Very active and I love the h-p!

Thanks for posting a video, great to watch!

Yes he used to be quite lazy in Germany but he's really active and far fresher now, quite sharp at home, even...think the change in feed has played a big part :)

He is looking gorgeous, I love his relaxed swinging tail :)

Funny you should say that as when he was first backed he used to carry his tail really crooked to the left, it was a bit worrying! Who knows what it was - Now it is relaxed and swinging as it should be (and full...aaaah wish my own hair was like that :p)

It is a fairly dark red, not Scarlett red, have a Scarlett red HKM velour one (hence offering a home for your bandages!)

When I was looking for your bandages I found a set of red / bordeauxish bandages (not quite bordeaux, but not bright red either) so would like to see them against your pad if you don't mind as they might be the same shade :)

But get them to match the saddlecloth! Mine was the fashion faux pas of the year ;) ;) ;)
(ETA: Just kidding!)

He looks lovely and relaxed and happy! I LOVE the half passes. Everything looks really easy, just as it should be. Lovely quiet riding as always :)

And I also enjoyed his Horse Hero debut. Frodo is famous, he's catching up with all the modelling Rauti's done in the past

LOL :D Rauti was indeed very confused! Who's this little critter who looks like a badger and has stolen his limelight?!?!?

Yes, he does find everything easy - my current signature is a reference to him, he finds all the movements really easy as if he'd done everything in a previous life, so the key is maintaining throughness and activity/engagement at all times.

Thanks PapaFrita! I love 'trampoliney'. Here's hoping that we'll soon see 'trampolineyness' in the directives next to 'submission' etc :D

Hahahah!! Just watching the HH video now. He LOVES the camera, doesn't he?? :) :)

Yes he does love the camera, he's such a character :) But be prepared as you're going to watch that for a long time -- that's an unusually long video, it was virtually the full session (they didn't edit anything out apart from a couple of walk breaks!)

I'm finding it incredibly interesting. Very clear, jargon-free, I can see exactly what's she's doing and why. Frodo's such a dude as well :)
