I always have trouble with my little 15 hand cob mare re saddles. She is about 18 years old and has a really short back that's a bit dipped. She has no wither and by the time a saddle is set behind her withers there's not a lot of space left! Most saddles are too straight in the tree and/or have projecting panels that dig into her loin.

Can any kind soul (cobs do dressage clique??) recommend a make of dressage saddle that might fit her?

Thanks ever so!

My cob is 16.2 and can only take a 17 inch saddle - he has got a bit more wither perhaps than your mare but does have an "armchair" back and I have found that a Barnsby fits him really well.

Thanks for both suggestions. Currently trying a Saddle Company saddle but just not sure. Its a nightmare. Will look into both saddles suggested.
