Short Fat Calves - Need Long Boots!!!

The toggi Calgary boots do a wide leg. I have a 39cm calf and they were way too wide for me. They are quite chunky though so maybe not smart enough?

I have short wide/fat calves and need to find some long leather riding boots to take my stages, without breaking the bank (or the zip!)
I have found some nice Treadstep gaiters that would do very nicely, but I really wanted long boots.
Any suggestions?

Why must they be leather?

Watch this space i ordred a pair of made to measure boots from equitector at Blenheim because i am a wide size 8 and have a very big calf..... will let you know how i get on when they arrive.... if that helps - the folks were brilliant- google them

I have Rhinegold Olympics which fit my legs. My measurements are almost identical to yours as well. They cost about £65 inc postage and are lasting really really well. I have now had them 3 years and they look set to last at least that again. They are comfy although not the warmest in the deep dark depths of winter if going for a long ride. I solved this with thick socks! The only con apart from that is that there is virtually no padding on the soles, so if you have a tall horse I think dismounting onto concrete might shatter all your bones!

I bought mine from here :) Hope this helps :)

ETS, the reviews back me up here, not just me that likes them!

Have you looked at Fuller Fillies - there was an article in one of this month's magazines all about long leather boots that they recommended them over all the others.

Lady who tried them said they were the most comfortable boots she had every had and she even walked the dog in them!

I have ariat long boots.... expensive, but out of every brand they were the only ones that would go around my leg.... a small rant here, but has anyone ever seen some of the boots on display? they are rediculous, companies of today need to realise that that is not the standard fitting!!!! sorry to anyone who does have the narrow fitting boots but some of the brands, if my legs fitted inside the calf width, i would be worried i had an eating disorder or something!!

I'm afraid I'd have to disagree with all the raving reviews about equitector, at least their made to measure ones, which are uncomfortable and verging on completely the wrong size. Yet, you get no come back because 'you took the measurements'; the emphasis is immediatly that you must have done it wrong.

I know what length of foot I sent them, and have measured the insole of the boot and it's a good 5 centimetres longer than I wanted/required. And the length of calf is way off, even though I was extremely careful about following their measuring instructions to the letter.

If you can buy off the rack from them, then it might work. But I really wouldn't recommend their made to measure service.
