Hi all

I have waterproof trainers, waterproof walking boots and ariat Grasmere boots. All started off waterproof but within a few months my feet r soaking (I reproof to no avail). Every morning I walk poppy to the yard then back through long wet grassy fields home.

Wellies r fine in the winter but in this warm wet weather my legs are boiling.

Sooo .. comfy to walk in, totally waterproof (prob Welly type material I guess) short boots ??

Help me before I get trench foot 🦶👣 ...

Watching for recommendations because I bought some of those cheap rubber ankle wellys and they are totally waterproof and comfy but in long wet grass the water just seems fall in the top and I end up squelching along until I can stop and pour the water out! My feet stay drier in normal jodhpur type boots than the wellys.

Seems like I'm not alone !! Warm wellies look good but the neoprene makes me think more for cold weather..

I need something to walk in for few miles, will look at decathlon now

Perhaps more than you are looking to spend but I have these for walking and they are 100% waterproof.

I‘ve got standard length Cotswold wellies and they are brilliant! Best ones I’ve bought and they’re still going strong after 3 years, even when I was wearing them for 6 hours plus a day, 5 days a week in my previous job.

I love my cotswold wellies.

I also have these walking boots from Decathlon that are absolutely brilliant. The comfiest boot ever and the water proofing hasn't let me down yet.

Nearly went for the muckboot outscape but I have muckboot wellies and don't find them massively comfy, I get sore soles of feet so will get some inner soles for them. Did buy a 41 which is spot on with winter socks, weird though as normally. 39 or max 40!!

Will try the ones I've ordered and report back 😁. Wore my muckboot wellies this morning as has tipped down with rain, lovely dry feet but legs felt like they were on fire after doing horses then walking dog lol.

I have a pair of short crocs wellies. Think they are called Jaunty boots. Incredibly comfy and mine have never leaked. I wear them every day. I did find I had to dip them in hot water and then wear for an hour when new to get them to mould to my ankle nicely but it's a small price to pay

After I smashed my ankle last year I can't get any boot on that doesn't have laces so thinking it was a short term thing, I got some Salomon walking boots with Goretex off ebay. Bloody brilliant boots; great grip and totally waterproof which is just as well as I still can't any wellies/boots on at all. Well worth a look though I don't know how expensive they are new. I wouldn't go back now even if I could wear wellies.

I bought a pair of Salomon boots last year and they are lovely and comfortable, if a bit warm.

If you want to make sure you don't get water over the top of the boots, you could buy a pair of gaiters wear.

Think it must just be me, every waterproof boot I buy ends up leaking, totally wet socks. Some I have paid alot for!! I do walk through wet grass daily but I treat them with waterproof spray and it makes no difference !! Most recent 2 pairs are synthetic/goretex but still leak lol.

I recently bought some mountain horse classic boots.

I used them for a holiday in the lakes recently and they stayed waterproof and were comfortable.

Note of caution tho, they come up HUGE.

I’m a 4.5 but super wide feet, think square shaped. I bought a 5 (which is what I do for most shoes, as 4 is way too narrow and often a bit small). They are gloriously wide… but also huge all over.

With hindsight I should have bought a 4 and had room. I was wearing them with two pairs of thick walking socks and still a lot of room in them. Which is fine for mooching around the yard but I struggled a bit hill walking as my foot was slipping around inside on the steep downhills/uneven rocky ground.

Yes, these were the short lace up boots (£116 on Amazon). They were brilliant in wet grass, boggy ground, puddles etc all day long without any dampness, but I’ve only used them for 2 weeks so can’t say if they’ll last Tbf.
