I'm hoping there is someone here who has hobbit feet like me and who has found a short yard boot they find comfortable.

I've had several pairs of Ariat Terrains over the years and they are doable if I buy a size or two too large, but I'd swear my feet are getting even wider as I get older and it would be lovely to find a boot I can wear that isn't 2" longer than my feet just to get the extra width!

I would appreciate any suggestions anyone can offer please...even if it's "stay clear of xxxxxx, they are really narrow".

Thank you both, you've given me a great place to start my search.

I had to laugh at your Ariats in the cupboard Meleeka since I had the same a few years ago. In the end I loaned them to a friend for a season and she stretched them out for me just enough to be wearable. A win:win for us both. She had the boots she needed for showing her lovely cob and I received back a pair of boots that would do more than lie at the back of the wardrobe gathering dust.

I'm a size 8 EEE fitting and find Mountain Horse fit fine, just as well as only other option is to wear the box!

mountain horse are very wide and i have now got the snowy river boots and they are really comfy and hardwearing....i only ever buy mountain horse boots as its a waste of time even trying any other make when you have wide feet IMO...you can often pick them up on e bay at a good price

How about walking boots. They seem to be wide and cheaper than horsey boots.I have some Hi Tec ones that are very comfy.

I have wide feet and gave up with equestrian yard boots, as they never last long - way to expensive and leak very quickly. I bought some good quality boots from our outdoor shop. and they are brilliant so far and comfortable.

Never bought Ariat never will as I feel you just pay for the name. The link above are not waterproof either, these are like what I have https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/brecon-mens-waterproof-vibram-boots-p15189.aspx/brown/. I buy mens as they are a little wider.

I also have hobbit feet and asked this same question in the New Riders and Owners forum a couple of weeks ago. Other users recommended the Mountain Horse short boots and so far (one outing) they have been great.
