Is there a shortage of horse sharers in this area? (Northants/beds) been advertising for a few weeks, with not much luck, and the people that do contact either seem perfect then change their minds at the last minute or ask all the right questions, make the right noises then they drop of the face of the earth!!

I am not charging an horrendous amount, and I appreciate we are coming into winter but there must be some seriously horse mad people who are serious out sharing somewhere!

Its a shame as my boy is in need of exercise and I am unable to ride him at present, and he is a great ride (can be challenging but great when he gets going!)

:(

Wish you were closer. My share seemed to start out promising but turned out to be mostly walking around the block 2x a week. :( I'm now in a position where the horse likes and trusts me but owner does not want me having lessons on him because she's now having a lesson on him once a week. He's started bucking with her too because of how he's being ridden. She won't hack out on him though as she still believes he's spooky...he's not ! Not a positive experience so far. Good luck with finding the right person.

I know where you are coming from, also northants looking for a sharer!!

I'm also going to be advertising for a sharer or loaner soon, this doesn't bode well!

just out of interest how much were you charging?

For riding 2 or 3 times a week £15.00 per week.... but not put cost on ad as this is discussed with other issues if person is a serious enquirer! lol

Good luck with getting a sharer.... maybe different in your area :)

Don't want to worry you but I'm North Beds close to Northants borders & it took me ages to find a sharer for 2/3 days per week with Saturday available. I had no end of loonies respond to my ad
One person in Corby who wanted me to move horse to a yard near them.
Someone from Luton who hadn't realised we were about an hours drive away despite rough location being in the ad.
Loads of parents for their very novice children despite ad saying not suitable for novice & no under 15s due to yard rules.
People who thought £5 was quite sufficient to pay to ride a good horse 2/3 times a week (no chores). Horse doesn't need schooling/bringing on, just enough work to keep fit & we were allowing lessons or comps on their days.
Got a cracker now. Lovely rider, reliable & a really nice person so was worth hanging on.
