Should a horse be sore after routine shoeing every 6 weeks. I've heard of horses being g shod every 8 weeks due to being sore after being shod every 6 or 7 weeks

You should have a conversation with your farrier and maybe consider hoof boots.

From your other thread I doubt you are in the UK so not sure what the weather conditions have been like where you are but here it has been dry for a long period causing some horses to struggle with dry hooves on dry, hard ground. Your farrier can advise on the best solution for your horse.

Shoeing should not make a horse sore.

Does the horse have thrush? Is the frog healthy? Are the angles correct? Is the horse arthritic? Cold the horse have lami?

Maybe hoof photos would help people to see what is going on?
