Should breed matter in a new horse?

Buy the horse not the breed.

I was looking for a ID, IDSH or ISh type. I went to view a horse who was too small too young and the wrong colour but advertised as an ISH. Examination of her passport revealed she has a white sport horse Ireland passport but is actually KWPN crossed with most likely a TB. There is no evidence of any ID in her.

However she is an absolute one in a million horse of a lifetime.

She is clever, brave, sensible and affectionate. She can turn her hand to anything at all, seamlessly moving from dressage horse to hunter to family pony.

I am thankful every day that I didn't buy the IDSH I was looking for or the sensible cob some people advised I buy as she is utterly perfect.
