Should celebrities be exempt from the Hunting Act?

The current situation is that hounds can be used to flush wild deer so long as they are shot dead and the courts have ruled that enough guns must be used to enable all the deer to be killed.

Now LACS who support this law are campaigning for a new law which would make it illegal to shoot any celebrity animals.

The Giant Red Deer has been extinct for a very long time. The last remains were found in an Irish bog, and were prehistoric. It was Millais, I think, who sketched it.

For parliamentarians to debate this creature, which they assure us was 9' tall, is a nonsense, when they are patently so unaware of the facts. Further pointless legislation? Brilliant idea!! It was a very good head, but nothing more or less than that.

I watched the laughable news report on the subject. All the film was supposedly of the same stag, though clearly every beast was a different animal.

Will society ever learn that knee jerk reactions achieve nothing? The most appropriate reaction would be to reinstate the hunting of deer by hounds. A correct management policy would then prevail!!
