The YO dog eats EVERYTHING. I have now gone up to the farm to find :
-2 tubtrugs chewed into a million pieces [they cost a lot where i am - 10€ for a large and 8€ for a small one]
-2 pairs of tendon boots - again not the cheapest of boots.
- 1 pair of over reach boots
- a gel like wither pad cost me £20.
- my sparkley whip
- 2 pars of riding gloves
and a full face [with ears] flymask i bought for £18 that i had had for 3 days..

Yes, she should definitely replace!

Is there anywhere you could keep your things where the dog couldn't get them?

Someone at our yard has a big plastic trunk which is brilliant for keeping all her stuff in.

Unfortunately i can't show the YO what he has eaten as it is in a million pieces on the floor..

I think i might make a list of all the dog has eaten and put the prices on and give it to the YO and hope he will replace it. A boarder had her entire tack box ransacked, a schooling whip and a pair of leather and sheepskin boots eaten. The dog had chewed off all the straps and completely shredded the sheepskin, they cost her over £100. She's gone now, i think it might be because of that..

He's also eaten half my brushes and a pot of hoof grease.

I kept everything in a dust bin with a secure lid on, he had obviously found a way in... Everyone is pi**ed off, i don't blame them, it's really annoying me now.

This dog will chew through anything...

I would sweep them up to show her!
To be honest unless the yard offered much more than its competitors I would be moving. If it does I would lock my stuff away.

Yes!!

My bosses dog did this (i was the groom) but my dog would steal the things from the other dog and put all the evidence in 'his' barn so liveries were not impressed with me until they saw my dog stealing the items from the other dog, my boss thought it was hilarious until she didnt put her Patey hat away the one day and i discovered the dog strutting round with a blue bow, my dog was in the car as i had only popped in to sort my horse on my day off, my boss was not impressed!

Definatly!!!!
I would also have everyone who is mad at him have a word with him (not all at once) so that they get their say and also in case he denies it and says it wasn't his dog.
I would make a list of everything he has chewed put a price list up and ask him to keep the dog away.
He is going to end up loosing business if things do not change.

No. Tidy your goods away in a locking tack box and the dog won't eat them

. Why is your stuff lying around where the dog can get to them? Simplest thing, if you can't tidy your belongings away is to move to a yard where there are no dogs.

Oops! Apologies, I didn't read the whole thread

. I see that OP does tidy the belongings away, in which case I totally agree with the others; ask YO to keep dog away from your goods and stop it from eating everything on the planet!
