Should I be booting him up?

I'm riding my horse again but it is of course all very exciting (*rolls eyes*) and so he's not paying as much attention to me as I'd like and too much to everything else going on around us. (I do give him the benefit of the doubt as tonight was only his 3rd outing alone in his new home but equally, he still needs to pay attention)
But he's so busy wiggling here and gawping there he seems to forget where he's putting his feet & ends up tripping up.
I'm not normally one for putting boots on but I'm thinking knee boots (along with a little bit of schooling) wouldn't be a bad idea? Or am I just being too paranoid?

This might convince you

It only happened the once but he always wears knee boots ever since. Jeffries knee boots are fantastic but expensive (around £80) but worth it.

He looks like a gladiator!

At work we hack out in all round brushing boots and knee boots.

My mare I hack in all round brushing boots and over reach boots. I get to precautious, but better to take precautions that having an injured horse. Thats how I look at it :) Just make sure they aren't to tight or two loose etc. :)

Ok, the pictures did their job, poor pony- hope he/she's ok now? Knee boots it is. Annoying thing is if he wasn't so busy gawping he'd be fine, he's not the type to trip or fall normally and in 6 years of owning him I've never wanted to boot him up before but the other night he just wasn't paying attention so perhaps better safe than sorry!
