I took baby horse for her first SJ outing tonight. Thought we'd keep it small with 55cm and 65cm.
She was an angel as usual and was very calm with all the wizzy ponies!
She had 1 run out at a double in the 55, which I don't really mind because she hasn't done many doubles, but was really confident the rest of the round but had 3 down!
Then in the 65, thought I'd try cantering and she jumped much better but still had 3 down!
It was all the little uprights she was knocking down, she just seemed quite complacent and a bit over confident, you know when they don't really jump properly if there is nothing to look at?
So I'm pleased in a way because she was quite competent but I'm just a bit worried she might be one of those horses that don't have much respect for show jumps! But it's only her first go..so am I just expecting too much? She's never really been that clumsy schooling but she's changing quite rapidly and becoming much more forward.
what would you work on?
