Should I change saddle racks

I bought a hinged piece of wood from the national saddle centre that clips onto the rack for exactly this reason. They are great.

I think part of the issue is using the less chunky pipe lagging .. I got as wide as I could fit on the rack and this means the surface bearing area is quite a bit larger than a less chunky version of pipe lagging.

It helps, but a pillow or folded rug is still better.

Yep that would work, not sure how long the Prolite pads would survive in a useable condition, keep checking them if you do use them for actual riding.

I stress again saddles vary, the AH ones I fit are especially vulnerable, but I see damage to all sorts so it's best to take the cautious route.

I use the nuumed numnahs and they don't cause the saddle to have marks on it, I would imagine a thick blanket underneath would work.
