Hi i have a ex racer and we went on a hack today for around 2hours, he sweated up within 20mins of being out??? He joged alot and was very excitable as this was his first time hacking this root? He ended up head to toe in sweat and it took a long while to cool him down. I have only had him around 2 months and this is the first time i have seen him like this, so dont no if this is how he usally gets? Was wondering if this is good for him or not???

My question is should i clip him or wait and see what he is like when his summer coat come though.

any advice gratefully recived :)

It all depends on how much time you have to play with really.

If you don't clip him, do you have the time to wait with him while he dries?

If you do clip him, do you have the time to keep rugging/unrugging him as the weather gets warmer, and if you take off his coat, will he maintain his weight?

The answer is NO,he will have started shedding his winter coat and if you clip now will ruin his summer coat. I was always told never after Feb 1st. Just except he got over excited on a new walk and give him time to cool down.
