Should I get a foster?

Gingerly considering getting a foster as I’m currently working towards qualifying as an equine behaviourist and I’d love a project to have alongside. Buying something however seems a little too risky and too potentially permanent, especially as prices for so-called projects have sky rocketed, hence the idea of a foster.

Problem is I’m not eligible for fostering for the RSPCA - never owned a horse, though I’ve worked with them for a while - which makes me think I won’t be eligible for other charities either. But does anyone know of a charity that doesn’t have this requirement? (I’m based SE)

Would also be interested in hearing people’s experiences with fosters, and whether anyone has better ideas for a way to have a project? I’d consider a part loan or working for a charity, but unfortunately there’s nothing in my area.

Have you tried SAFE (Saving Abandoned Fly-Grazing Equines)? I think they are near Reading. I don't know whether they do fostering but it's always worth asking.

Why don't you get a job working in a professional environment, eg a stud.
I'm not sure what you mean by fostering, but if you want to learn about horse behaviour please do not practice on animals in need of a good home if you don't have the cash, or the expertise. Horses cost a lot of money if you look after them properly.

I looked at fostering last year. Was looking for a couple òf companions and I'm pretty sure I could offer a good home. None of the charities even came back to me :(
