I am showing a 32" shetland in a coloured and novice class and gonna be against larger horses such a 14-16 hands and smaller so all sizes should i stay at a very very fast trot to keep up or should i just go at a good speed and let people overtake? x:D:confused:

if the judge/steward is any good then they will organise the class in height, such as the smaller/slower ones first and then the biggerr/faster ones last (or vice versa) and then ask for you to go in 2 groups.

You should go at the spped that he shows a nice active pace at, don't try to keep up. Over taking is allowed, preferbly not in front of the judge.

I used top show a small natice and would tend to cut the corners also so I got round more than once! Just make sure that if you do this you don't cut someone else up!

Is it ridden or in hand?
