Hi everyone,
Im 41 and i use to love my showjumping i had to retire my showjumper 10 years ago and i have never got over loosing her and be truthful never jumped after that, as time as passed ive found myself with a fab horse and my heart really wants to go back jumping but my brain is telling me that i don t know how to jump anymore, do you think that i should go back jumping or to leave it in the passed. Ps i do have a pro showjumping instructor but have had no lessons for 10 years do i be truthful with him but im scared that he will think my riding is terrible after such a long time not jumping, what would you do if you were me xxxx:confused:

have a go! You sound like your heart is in it, start slowly, maybe with just one small fence up and if you enjot it go back to your lessons :D :D :D

oh and pictures ;)

Thanks hun, you know what mind over matter hey !!! i worry too much what other people think, i just want to go back the way i left so maybe i will forget the age matter book my lessons and sneak off and have them lessons and prove to myself that i can do it!!! the worst comes the worst i will hate it or hit the deck, you only live once and maybe you have given me the encouragement to go and do it!!! THANKYOU HUN:D

Crack on! Just be truthful with the instructor and say that you'd like to try jumping again but it's been a long time, then they can start you off gently. There's no shame in that!

I bet you'll love it once you get going!

Lesson booked for next week!!!!! Will post you pictures!!!! lol even the one if i hit the deck!!!! IM GOING TO GO FOT IT!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

You have all given me the confidence to do it THANKYOU ALL SO MUCH!!!

FUZZLE!

go for it!

im 31 and hadnt jumped since i was 16( i used to compete at local level only) but loved it. im also dying to get back into it but am terrified! i used to be the mad one at the yard who used to ride the crazy horses and jump silly heights. i think self preservation has kicked in as im still to pop over a cross pole with my new boy : )

have a go!

x

Go for it :D And remember that it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks! Your instructor is there to help so they'll understand. And i'm sure your brain and your body will soon remember, you'll do great :D Just rememeber, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks, as long as you and your horse are happy and having fun thats all that matters :D Awaiting a full report with pictures :) Have fun!!! :D
