I was all set to go to Lily's first show tomorrow but I had one of 'those' lessons tonight and its really knocked me. She got all silly and excited when we first went into the jumping paddock and did eventualy settle down into a nice trot but we never got it smooth. She was coming into the jump nice and slowly but she's giving them a huge amount of clearance and I keep getting left behind rather than committing and going with her. She's not getting socked in the teeth, I just have a tendency to then let the reins slip through and let her run off after the jump.
We were only going to do a 2ft clear round and it won't even be that high. I don't doubt her ability to jump, I know she'll go clear, I just worry about the numpty thats riding her. She's got such potential, she's just so green, I'm worried I'm going to ruin her.
