I need one of my horses to be rehomed asap (we're talking days rather than weeks) due to grazing issues.

He is a great hack alone and in company, 100% in traffic. He has BS winnings, but has mainly competed unaffiliated at jumping and dressage. He is good to load, clip, with farrier etc. He is very well mannered and easy to handle by even the most novice handler. Sound and well, but has a heart murmur - which I know will make him more difficult to sell. but I also would not want much for him.

I really fear sending him out on loan incase something happens to him and he is sent back broken! but also know it may be easier to find a loan home and I can keep an eye on him.

what would you do?

What about loan with view to buy? Maybe with a 3 month contract, that way if they dont buy, it will be easier to sell bring time. He sounds a good alrounder so you shouldnt have to many probs finding a home!

Lost some of my grazing suddenly - so didn't see it coming! Now have him on 3 acres with 2 weanlings and half of that field is poached and should be rested. Looking for more grazing, but if I don't find it and keep him then I am almost certainly going to need more grazing for all 3 rather than just him. As he is my only ridden horse, he'll be the easiest to rehome. If I can't find soemwhere for him to go, he will stay but my field will certainly be useless in a month or 2.

I would focus on looking for grazing as you have said that it will effect them all shortly. If you sell then you will most likely regret it, and in regards to loaning, not many people are looking at the minute.

Have you considered sticking a notice in a few local tacks shops for grazing/loan home?

Agree with the LWVTB option. Yes, he *could* come back broken but he *could* get that way in a perfectly safe field by himself. You clearly don't feel you have much time and selling in a rush won't necessarily give you the option to find a home that your happy about. Selling is a one-way ticket to loosing all control of your animal's welfare so should be done with care and without time-pressure. At least with a loan/LWVTB you can take him back if you think something is going wrong. Good luck!
