I forgot to say, even with skids, portable shelters are not that easy to move. They're designed to move from one field to the next at most - not down the road, so you have to be fairly certain that they are to stay in a particular area, or else get them taken away on a low-loader, which would be costly.. We move ours 100yds from a turnout paddock to the yard this year, and it took a tractor and four swearing men!
your having a huge outlay stables fencing, and she could put rent up every year because she knows you paid for stables and fencing and weont be going anywere in a hurry hold over a barrel comes to mind
Thanks to all for your advice and comments! Im of the same view when it comes to both Dad and I paying for the same grazing!! A lady who is best friends with my boss is a barrister, so I may pick her brains as to the legality of the LO charging us twice.
Having had a rather heated discussion with my Dad last night (partner and dog beggered off for a ciggy to get out of line of fire! )
Dad has basically said that no,I shouldnt move the horses, and we will put shelter up/do fencing etc, and if that isnt good enough for her we will then move..... I pointed out that isnt prevention better than cure, ie moving before spending X amount and then her still not happy, and he said that I was making moutains out of molehills blah blah blah..... Im worried, as Thinlizzy (and others!) have said that the LO will keep increasing rent and generally being anal with regards the upkeep of the paddocks etc.... Damn depression meds are having to work over time this week!! xx
