as many of u kno my loan horse abby has been ill with abseses and her arthritis is getting bad etc lots of wee things wrong with her and basically she wont be the jumping horse we expected probs just a light hack.......

when we took abby on the plan was for her to be here basically until the end of her days, in the contract tho it did state tht she could go home anytime as long as her owner was given 3 months notice.

after contacting her owner about her problems they basically said they couldnt have her back and were no way able to help me financially and the way it was written made me feel like if i had to send her home she was gonna gonna just be cast off if u kno what i mean? got rid of if she was gonna be no use

now i have built a great bond with this horse and even if she was just gonna be a happy wee field ornament i would still want her here

i was wondering if i should ask them if they would consider selling her to me?? so she would be guaranteed a safe home for life where she could just be a happy horse who goes for a gentle hack every so often and live out her days in comfort

what do u think?? should ask and see what she says??

chinese takeaway if u got this far :P sorry im hungry lol!!!

ps the big will ad went away :P

Can you afford to keep her and the medical bills that might come with her?

Do you mind not being able to ride? I'd go mad if I couldn't ride.

If they can't afford to have her back or pay towards her IMO they should be open to selling her to you, but for a realistic price, otherwise it's just blackmail, 'You keep our older, slightly crocked horse and continue to pay her (probably increasing vet bills) while not being able to do all the things with her that you would really like to; or we will sell her to someone who won't treat her so well' She is really lucky that you care so much about her

i have my other pony to ride

well the hope is if she's not being worked as hard tht she will be happy and sound in the field so hopefully she wouldnt have too many more extortionate vet bills. she is fully insured tho

see i worry tht if she went back she wouldnt get the treatment she gets here, i treat my horses like princesses they get only the best and i love them soooo much. i would hate tho think of her being PTS or something cause she could only be a light hack or companion

Why offer to buy when the deal was she end her days with you anyway?? Surely you can just keep her on permenant (sp) loan!!

so i kno she's mine and she will defo be here, also means tht i dont have to keep going back to her owners all the time about vets etc...... in a way it would also give them peace of mind

OK, if you're happy to offer money for her and want that peace of mind then I'd say go for it, or you could request that they consider handing her offer to you for a nominal fee, sounds as though they'd be quite glad of the chance to be rid on any further responsibility!

If you're sure you want the commitment, I would suggest to them that you buy her for a nominal sum (and I mean nominal - about £10!) If you sent her back - and they had her put down - it would cost them £300plus!

i feel she's worth it

it not even just the thought of her being PTS even her being passed about shes just a darling horse

u can't help but love her

She does have a lovely face, how could you resist!
If I were you I would offer to buy her but for a nominal amount, if they have made it quite clear they don't want her back you would be doing them a big favour by offering her a forever home.
I think they would be lucky for you to have her by the sounds of things.
Good luck.
