Stayed in a travel inn for a couple of days and there was a thin strip of complete scrub land (as in 6 foot high weeds) around the pub oposite. I've come home now but can't stop thinking about a horse that was tethered on it. I managed to scramble up the bank on my bad ankle to have a look at him before i came home yesterday. He was young, i'd say about a year old from his teeth, had a good covering of weight and neat feet. Was a bit coltish and nippy etc. Is tethered on a massive chain with a thick leather collor/strap around the top of his neck/ behind his poll.
I'd been worried he was tied by rope and might get free onto the main road, as there's no fence around the land, but it looks pretty secure and not overly tight. It is rubbing him though. And he's got raw pink sore patches down his crest from something else. Could be sweet itch, but not really anything for him to rub on. There was a water bucket, but it was overturned and empty.
As i was going home we drove past another on the oposite side of the pub.
Is this enough to ring WHW? Would they go out? They have grass, although it's rubbish.
